Abstract (italiano)

Facing the Armenian Question: Problems, Strategies. The Armenian Question, more than one hundred years after its coming out, is still giving rise to a memory clash between Turkey and Armenia. In this paper I analyse a single strategy displayed by Turkish institutions to deal with this delicate question, disentangling the semiotic form of that strategy and showing its ideological content. I then suggest some possible explanations of the lasting frictions determined by that Question, focusing on the lack of a post-conflict negotiation, on the nature of Armenian traumatic memory and on the problems brought about by a juridical definition of genocide.
