Isabella Pezzini, professor in Semiotics at the Department of Communication and Social Research, at Roma Sapienza' University, Italy. Member of the PhD Program in Communication Sciences of Roma Sapienza' University and member of the PhD Program in Semiotic Disciplines, Italian Institute of Human Sciences and the University of Bologna. On the board of Versus. Quaderni di
Studi Semiotici, and of E/C, Rivista on-line dell'Associazione Italiana Studi Semiotici. President of the Italian Association of Semiotics Studies (AISS). Main research areas: semiotic theory, text semiotics, semiotics of culture, subjectivity. Her research into the semiotics of text and discourse examines contemporary forms of expression, audio-visual language, consumerism and the imaginary, and research strategies in efficacity.
